Males of the Faerie Realms
Where are all the men in the Faerie Realms? Luckily, the popularity of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter is bringing them out of their hiding places. In Lord of the Rings, the elf Legolas is a worthy hero, as is of course the hobbit, Frodo.
The wizards who inhabit the world of Harry Potter are showing boys how to access the world of mystery and imagination. So boys, follow their lead and find a great quest to guide your adventures! You have to be alert about taking the advice of wizards, however, for wicked wizards are just as prevalent as wise ones. Most fine tales have a battle of wits between the two. In all cultures, there are many males in the tales of the otherworlds, some holding the power of goodness and protection and some wicked evil doers, wanting only to destroy.

Wizard Rex
Most people who have worked underground tell of the mystical miners who can be heard working in tunnels close by. Sometimes they are benevolent and helpful and sometimes they cause havoc, depending on whether the earth is treated well. Another male who inhabits the otherworlds is the Faerie King, Oberon. He reigns over all the fairies, elves and goblins. (Did you know he has no wings?) If you want some high adventure, nail-biting and often blood-thirsty adventures, read the myths.
Wizard Rex has the daunting task of often being the only male in our land that abounds with fairies, and if he is sometimes swamped by the gaggle of girliness, he takes himself off to walk barefoot in the forest to recuperate.
